Torch Fest

What is Torch Fest?

Torch Fest is Australia’s biggest mental health music festival, debuting at West Room, Brisbane in 2021. Then it expanded to Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra between March-April 2022.

Designed to unite people through Torch Songs, Torch Fest is a festival like no other. Each edition of the festival includes a stellar lineup of artists across the day, taking place at the country’s finest venues.

In addition to the music you can take part in the activations in the pick:Up Village; our dedicated space with positive mental health activities, designed to equip people with tools and resources to develop and maintain positive mental health.

Torch Songs

A Torch Song is an anthem, a light to get us through the dark times, and these songs have the ability to change how we feel.

With a glowing lineup of Torch Fest performers, coming together in an appeal for better mental health, we’ll hear every artist play their Torch Song as part of their set.

We will also have the Torch Fest Guitar, a beautiful Deluxe Cherry Burst Guitar kindly donated by Artist Guitars, for any artist to use when performing their Torch Song.

To unite artist and attendee through their Torch Songs, attendees will be given battery-powered torches to switch on when the Torch Song is played. The light from these torches will represent the light that gets us through.

The pick:Up Village

We’re not talking about a token mental health tent, tucked away in a corner, with people standing behind a table handing out flyers. Nope, we’re putting mental health front and centre.

We’ve teamed up with some of the best mental health and music organisations to bring you fun and engaging activations. Hey Mate will be bringing their Live Experience Wellbeing Program (LEWP) to all four editions of Torch Fest. You can engage in JMC‘s Drum-Out-Your-Feelings Workshop. There will be chocolate from our mental health chocolatiers, YUMM. Get your temporary tattoo and have a yarn with Tat & Talk from RISE Foundation.

With over twenty activations across the four festivals, there really is something for everyone.
